WIRELESS PORTABLE PA SYSTEM

Ultra-compact system now incorporates ACT technology

Kansas City, MO - October 2006... Avlex Corporation, the name audio professionals turn to for world-class wireless technology, microphones, and related electronic accessories, is pleased to announce the introduction of the new Mipro MA-101a wireless portable PA system. Featuring an ultra-compact, lightweight form factor that facilitates a high degree of mobility, combined with Mipro's state-of-the-art ACT (Automatic Channel Targeting) technology, the new MA-101a makes an outstanding choice for a great sounding, portable PA system that is ideal for use in guided tours, training/educational settings, for sports and activity leaders, and countless additional applications--indoors or outdoors--wherever reinforced, highly intelligible speech or music is required.

The new MA-101a is a UHF True Diversity, PLL (phase-locked loop: for feedback control) system with 16 selectable frequencies plus automatic channel scan and targeting capability. It is available in two versions--one with a wireless handheld microphone (MA-101a/ACT-707HE), the other with a body pack transmitter for use with Mipro's headworn and lavalier microphones or the MU-40GX instrument cable (MA-101a/ACT-707TE). Equipped with a storage compartment housing a shoulder strap for easy carrying as well as a threaded underside that enables the amplifier/loudspeaker component to be mounted on a conventional microphone stand for a more "fixed" placement, the MA-101a's operation couldn't be easier--thanks to Mipro's industry-leading ACT technology, incorporated into this highly functional, compact system for the first time.

Mipro's ACT technology takes the guesswork out of using wireless sound reinforcement equipment--making the MA-101a wireless portable PA system a pleasure to operate. The MA-101a's Scan function automatically searches the local RF environment, identifies and then locks the receiver onto an available, interference-free frequency. Mipro's proprietary ACT function then provides rapid and precise setup of the transmitter/wireless microphone to the same channel, at which point, the system is ready for use. Mipro's ACT technology provides the most intelligent wireless channel setup feature in the industry, and this becomes evident the moment the system is configured.

Compatible with any ACT series wireless transmitters and MM series wired dynamic microphones, the MA-101a is driven by a 30-watt internal amplifier--enabling the system to accommodate crowds upward of 400 people. With its Line In jack, the MA-101a accepts input from portable CD/MP3 music players or other line level sources. There's even a Line Out jack that facilitates hookup to an external recorder should one want to capture the MA-101a's output or send the signal to a larger PA system. Providing up to 8 hours of continuous operation per charge from its built-in rechargeable battery, the new MA-101a portable PA system is perfect for a myriad of uses.

The MA-101a carries a MSRP of $ 725.00 for the handheld microphone version (MA-101a/ACT-707HE) and $700.00 for the version with the body pack transmitter (MA-101a/ACT-707TE). The units are expected to ship in October 2006.
